**West Virginia is in the top nine for three-star defensive end Tyson Watson.

Watson (6-foot-6, 250 lbs.) is from Warren, Michigan. 247 Sports rates Watson as the 16th best prospect from Michigan and rivals has him at 12.

Watson tweeted that he will be announcing his commitment next Friday, April 17. Also in his top nine are Iowa State, Michigan State, Tennessee, Syracuse, Toledo, Purdue, Indiana and Minnesota.

West Virginia had just offered Watson on April 7.

Update: 5:06 p.m.

**West Virginia has offered 2021 safety Jalen Clyatt.

Clyatt (6-foot-4, 197 lbs.) is from Sherwood High School in Sandy Spring, Maryland. He is rated as a three-star prospect by 247Sports and rivals. Clyatt has other offers from East Carolina, Liberty, Maryland, Pitt and Rutgers.

**West Virginia has offered 2023 cornerback Shawn Battle from Philadelphia, Pa.

Battle (6-foot, 175 lbs.) is not yet ranked by 247Sports or rivals. He already has offers from Texas A&M, Rutgers, Tennessee, Syracuse and Pitt.

Update: 11:16 a.m.

**Deland, Florida outside linebacker Timar Rogers’s already impressive offer sheet just got a bit longer with an offer from West Virginia.

Rogers (6-foot-2, 200 lbs.) is rated as a three-star prospect by both 247Sports and rivals. Rogers’s lengthy offer sheet including power five schools Kansas, Mississippi State, Missouri, NC State, Auburn, Boston College, Indiana, Kansas State, Wake Forest and Washington State.

**WVU has offered junior college cornerback Jadarrius Perkins.

Perkins (6-foot-2, 185 lbs.) plays at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and is from Hattiesburg, Mississippi. As a trust freshman this season, Perkins made 20 tackles and had three pass breakups for the national champion Bulldogs. He is currently unranked by 247Sports and rated as a two-star by rivals.

West Virginia recruited defensive back Jackie Mathews from MGCCC in the 2019 recruiting class.

Perkins has offers from Baylor, Louisville, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, South Alabama, Texas State, Texas Tech, UAB, UCF, Arkansas State, Charlotte, East Carolina, Houston and Louisiana-Monroe.

**West Virginia has offered 2022 guard Jackson Pruitt from Detroit.

Pruitt (6-foot-3, 260 lbs.) is rated as a three-star prospect by 247Sports. 247 Has Pruitt as the top-rated guard from Michigan and the No. 12 guard overall in the 2022 class. He has offers from Colorado, Kentucky and Maryland.
