This past weekend the Mountaineers took two of three games from the previously ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys on the road. The biggest key to the series win was the dominance from the pitching staff and it all kicked off with ace Alek Manoah.

Manoah hurled eight scoreless innings, while striking out 11 batters and walking none in a 11-1 win Friday night. He lowered his season ERA to 2.44 and recorded his fourth win of the season.

Manoah was named Big 12 Conference Player of the Week along with TCU’s Jake Guenther and Texas Tech’s Dru Baker.

The Mountaineers will travel on Wednesday to take on rival Maryland in a one game set before returning to Morgantown to host a three game series vs Texas Tech beginning Friday.
