Illinois Fans Passionately React to Frazier Bringing Harris, Hansberry to WVU
If there needs to be a non-conference game scheduled next season, it should be Illinois vs. WVU.
It all started with former Illinois assistant and current WVU associate head coach Chester Frazier posting a meme on X (Twitter) following the commitments of Illini transfers Sencire Harris and Amani Hansberry.
“I’m leaving here with something.”

Frazier made it known that it was all out of fun and that he’s still a Fighting Illini for life.

Frazier, who played at Illinois from 2005-09 under Bruce Weber, joined Brad Underwood’s staff in 2021, spending a few more years with the program as an assistant. As Darian DeVries has been filling out his first staff at West Virginia, the opportunity arose for Frazier to leave his alma mater for West Virginia. Right as Frazier to WVU was being finalized, both Harris and Hansberry entered the transfer portal, both visiting and committing to West Virginia over the weekend to reunite with Frazier.
Former Kentucky assistant Orlando Antigua is heading back to Champaign as an associate head coach, as announced by the program on Sunday.
