WV Sports Now Daily Notebook – August 31

The West Virginia Sports Now Daily Notebook is a daily recap of news concerning West Virginia University Athletics.

Update (8:00 a.m.) – 

Mountaineers senior volleyball player Adrian Ell has been named the West Virginia Student-Athlete of the Week.

Ell was named to the Penn State Classic All-Tournament Team after leading the Mountaineers in kills for all three of their matches this past weekend.

The West Virginia women’s soccer team has been ranked No. 21 in the United Soccer Coaches poll as of Tuesday evening.

The Mountaineers are 2-1-1 through four games, with their lone loss coming at No. 10 Penn State. West Virginia travels to No. 16 Auburn for its next contest on Thursday.
