WV Sports Now Daily Notebook – September 1

The West Virginia Sports Now Daily Notebook is a daily recap of news concerning West Virginia University Athletics.
Update (8:00 a.m.)-
The West Virginia women’s volleyball team will travel to Honolulu, Hawaii, to compete in the Outrigger Volleyball Challenge at the at the Simplifi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center from Thursday through Sunday.
The Mountaineers (2-1) will open tournament play against No. 23 UCLA at 10:45 p.m. ET, Thursday. West Virginia then faces Hawaii at 1 a.m. Saturday and Texas State at 8:45 p.m. Sunday.
Live stats for this weekend’s matches can be found on WVUsports.com. West Virginia’s match against Hawaii on Saturday will be available for streaming on ESPN+.

West Virginia’s men’s soccer team is ranked No. 18 in the United Soccer Coaches poll released on Wednesday.
The Mountaineers currently hold a 1-1 record following a 3-0 loss to No. 7 ranked Pittsburgh on Monday. West Virginia visits Penn State for its next contest at 7 p.m. Friday.

Registration is now open for girls in third through eighth grade to join Coach P’s Mini Mountaineers for the 2022 women’s basketball season.
A $30 membership fee includes a clinic from 12 to 2 p.m. on Sept. 18, letters from Mountaineer players throughout the season, an invitation to Coach P’s Mini Mountaineers Night, a custom in-game video board message and one free admission voucher to a West Virginia home game.
