For their third signing of the day, the WVU baseball program announced the official addition of outfielder Chase Ecker on Wednesday afternoon.

Ecker brings his speed to West Virginia after spending his true freshman season at William & Mary.

With still most of his college career left in front of him, Ecker is coming off a season in which he hit .253 with 43 hits, 29 runs scored, 18 RBI and five doubles. He also stole 27 bases, going a perfect 27-for-27 on attempts, and played stellar defense in 48 games at center field.

Before college, Ecker was a three-time state champion at Malvern Prep, earning Inter-AC MVP honors as a senior and setting the schoolโ€™s career stolen base record.
