On the heels of a season-opening sweep of Georgia Southern, WVU baseball opens up the new week as a top 25 team in multiple major polls.

The Mountaineers slide in D1 Baseball’s poll at No. 25 and moved up one spot to No. 20 by Baseball America. Perfect Game remains unwilling to rank WVU.

WVU completed their weekend sweep by winning both legs of a Saturday doubleheader at Georgia Southern, winning 11-10 in the opener thanks to Gavin Kelly’s eighth inning base running before two bases loaded walks in the seventh put them over the top in the night cap.

West Virginia dominated game one of the series 15-3, held on for an 11-10 win in game two and then won game three 5-2 to start the season 3-0.

WVU will return to action at 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 20, facing Liberty in Lynchburg, Va.
