WVU Basketball Brenen Lorient against Lehigh

MORGANTOWN, W.Va – The WVU basketball team overcame a slow start against Coppin State, topping the Eagles 91-49 while allowing just 17 points in the second half on Wednesday at the Hope Coliseum.

Senior forward Brenen Lorient drew first blood in the game with a floater, but Coppin State took a 9-2 lead.

The Mountaineers cut the lead to 11-9 before some early drama resulted in Coppin State head coach Larry Stewart being ejected. The Coppin State bench was called for a technical foul, and Stewart received another technical foul and was ejected for his response at the 13:39 mark in the first half.

The fouls sent senior guard Honor Huff to the line for four free throws, but he only went 1-for-4.

WVU took control after that, going on a 13-2 run following the free throw for a 24-13 lead with (:38 left in the first half.
