Star 4-Star WPIAL RB Armand Hill Withdraws Commitment to WVU Football
Creating a reset to the WVU football recruiting efforts for their 2027 class, three-star running back Armand Hill announced he’s withdrawing his commitment to West Virginia on Thursday.
Hill, a four-star running back out of Western Pennsylvania, had been committed for almost a full year since March of 2025. Hill’s initial commitment came after WVU hired Larry Porter as their running backs coach for 2025, but Porter has since moved on and the Mountaineers have replaced him with Jay Boulware.
Most recruiting experts viewed Hill as the perfect fit in Rich Rodriguez’s offense.
Losing Hill, West Virginia has zero commitments for their 2027 class.
Hill is ranked as the No. 305 player overall and No. 23 at his position by Rivals.
Hill is also know for monster performances, including running for 495 yards in a single game โ the second highest total in the rich history of the prestigious WPIAL.
WV Sports Now wrote the warning below when first covering Hill’s commitment:
“Itโs worth noting that Porter and West Virginia still need to keep his commitment, which might not be easy considering he has offers from major program like Michigan and Penn State. He also has Power Four offers from WVUโs rival in Pitt and Syracuse as well as an attractive Group of 5 in UNLV.”
