WVU Basketball Reaches Out to PG to Help Finalize Roster

Even though most of Ross Hodge’s work in the transfer portal is behind him, the WVU basketball program still has a few open roster spots. It’s also clear the Mountaineers are planning to fill out their 2025 roster as soon as possible.
West Virginia is one of several schools, including a Big 12 foe, to reach out to a point guard who idolizes NBA star Kyrie Irving, per the Athletic. Prairie View A&M’s Orlando Horton Jr. has also heard from programs like New Mexico State, Oakland, Oklahoma State, Oral Roberts among others.
Since entering the transfer portal, Orlando Horton Jr. (@OrlandoHortonJr) has heard the following schools he tells @TheAthleticCBB:

The 5-foot-11, 152-pound native of Houston, Texas has averaged over 19 minutes per game each of the past two seasons. He posted a line of six points, 2.7 assists and 2.1 rebounds per game during the 2024-25 season.
Horton has been available for about a month since entering the portal in late April. He has two years left of eligibility.
