West Virginia head coach Neal Brown and his staff have not only been out recruiting and looking to the Transfer Portal, but also visiting players committed to joining the WVU program to ensure they remain locked in.

On Wednesday night, class of 2023 four-star defensive end Zachariah Keith posted a picture of himself with Brown and assistant coach and defensive line coach Andrew Jackson at the home of his family in Douglasville, Georgia.

Keith, a 6-foot-5, 250-pound defensive end who played at Douglas County High School, officially committed to WVU two weeks ago over offers from Buffalo, Coastal Carolina, Liberty, Marshall, Maryland, Memphis, Michigan State, South Alabama, Temple, Tennessee, Tennessee State, UCF, Vanderbilt and Western Kentucky.

West Virginia Adds Commitment From 2023 4-Star DE Zachariah Keith

He committed to Georgia Tech over the summer, but he reopened his commitment in October, and he had OVs scheduled for Buffalo and Memphis in December. But it would appear one December visit was enough. After originally scheduled a Dec. 21 commitment, with his choices being WVU, Memphis and Buffalo, his time in Morgantown swayed his future decisions. WVU originally jumped into the fray for Keith back in February, offering him before he committed to Georgia Tech.

Keith put together a strong senior season at Douglas County, compiling 76 tackles (46 solo), three tackles for loss, four sacks as an anchor of the Tigers’ defense.

247Sports rates Keith as the 688th-ranked recruit in the class (64th-ranked edge rusher and recruit from Georgia) while On3 is much higher on him, rating him as the 229th-ranked recruit in the class (25th-ranked edge rusher and 22nd-ranked recruit from Georgia).

Rivals hasn’t rated Keith yet, but he does hold a 5.5 Rivals Rating.

West Virginia’s 2023 class also includes commitments from defensive linemen in three-star Justin Benton (Covington, Georgia), three-star Oryend Fisher (Georgetown, Kentucky) and three-star Corey McIntyre Jr. (Port Saint Lucie, Florida).
