Over the weekend, 2021 wide receiver recruit J.J. Jones (son of former WVU RB Jon Jones) of Myrtle Beach, SC took an unofficial visit to Morgantown.

Jones tells WVSportsNow, “The visit went great. It was definitely incredible, those fans at WVU really love that team with all they have. The stripe the stadium looked absolutely awesome and once you drive into ‘Motown’, you can feel football in the air.”

Jones also says that he feels a “fresh start” in the program and that the coaching staff has the team going in the right direction. He also noted that his relationship with Coach Dye is continuing to grow and that the two stay in touch on a regular basis.

When asked what stood out to him from his visit, he mentioned the family pipeline to West Virginia. “They’ve always been special to me since I’ve been around the program my whole life.”

He currently holds other offers from Penn State, Vanderbilt and Louisville.
