2022 Running Back “Surprised” by West Virginia Offer

Top class of 2022 running back Nicholas Singleton (Shillington, PA) was in town for West Virginia’s game with Texas over the weekend. Singleton did expect to have a good time, but wasn’t expecting one thing — an offer.

Running backs coach Chad Scott verbally offered Singleton while on his visit, which came unexpectedly. “I was surprised! My dad was telling me not to expect one and to just get a feel for the school. I’m happy for the offer,” Singleton said. “I wanted the offer because I have always been interested in West Virginia, I know it is a top school,” he added.

This weekend was the first time he was able to meet and speak with the coaching staff due to him being a 2022 recruit, but said he loved getting to know the staff. “Coach Scott was really nice and I appreciate him taking the time to talk to me after the game. I am hoping to develop a relationship over time.”

Singleton also added a couple of takeaways he had from his visit, “Coach Scott was great along with the whole game day atmosphere, so I would say WVU is one of my top schools.”

Singleton mentioned that he definitely wants to make a return trip to Morgantown to see the campus and have the opportunity to meet the rest of the coaching staff sometime in the future.

He also holds offers from Penn State, Syracuse, Rutgers, Virginia Tech, Pitt, William & Mary and others.
