WVU Football DL recruit Aubrey Melvin

After one successful weekend of official visits, the WVU football staff hopes their hot streak continues this coming weekend as more recruits trickle into town.

Aubrey Melvin will be one of those prospects on campus, announcing he has an official visit booked for the weekend. “See ya’ll this weekend,” Melvin said on X (Twitter) on Wednesday.

Melvin is a class of 2025 defensive lineman out of Gwynn Park High School in Brandywine, Md. The 6-foot-4, 275-pound Melvin will spend time in Morgantown a week after visiting Boston College.

In addition to West Virginia and Boston College, Melvin has been receiving attention from schools who often recruit the same players like JMU, Pitt, Temple and Virginia Tech. Akron, Charlotte, Connecticut, Kent State and Towson also have offers out to Melvin. He even attended the Notre Dame spring game in April as an invited guest recruit and spent time at Penn State during the 2023 season.
