WVU Football Great Geno Smith Selected to First Pro Bowl Team

Former West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith has been selected to first ever Pro Bowl team. Smith is in his 10th NFL season and third with the Seattle Seahawks.

Smith has completed 71.4 percent of his passes through 14 games. Smith has thrown for 3,671 passing yards and 26 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Smith has led the Seahawks to a 7-7 record and second in the NFC West.

Smith has spent the last three seasons with the Seahawks, with stints with the New York Jets, New York Giants and Los Angeles Chargers since being drafted in the second round of the 2013 NFL draft. Smith played at West Virginia from 2009-12, under head coaches Bill Stewart and Dana Holgorsen, appearing in 41 games for the Mountaineers. The Miami, FL, native is the all-time passing yards and passing touchdowns leader at WVU with 11,662 yards and 98 touchdowns. Smith was a member of the 2012 Orange Bowl team.
