The WVU football is already busy looking at possible replacement players via the transfer portal. And with the transfer portal now officially open, they have an All-Conference edge rusher/outside linebacker on campus, per 247 Sports.

West Virginia welcomed Georgia Southern transfer MJ Stroud to Morgantown on Friday morning, trying to build a relationship with him before his upcoming official visits. Stroud will also meet with Colorado on Jan. 6 and Michigan State on Jan. 9 after lawing West Virginia.

The 6-foot-2, 235-pound Stroud was named a First-Team All-Sun Belt Conference player for the 2025 season, leading the league in tackles for a loss with 15.5. He totaled career highs in tackles with 33, sacks with 6.5, and forced fumbles with three.

He picked up 75 total tackles in four seasons with Georgia Southern, including a redshirt year in 2022.
