Class of 2024 defensive end prospect Makai Byerson has signed on with the WVU football program.

Byerson signed his national letter of intent on Wednesday’s National Signing Day.

Byerson, out of Manchester High School in Midlothian, Virginia, is regarded as a three-star prospect. He was one of the first 2024 recruits offered by WVU.

Listed as 6-foot-5 and 260 pounds, Byerson joins 2024 class headliner Obinna Onwuka as a pass rusher of the future for the Mountaineers.

Byerson, who committed to West Virginia in June, also received offers from Boston College, Duke, East Carolina, James Madison, Kentucky, Liberty, Marshall, Old Dominion, Rutgers, Tennessee and Virginia Tech.
