WVU Football to Welcome Highly Coveted Florida Safety for OV

WVU Football Safety recruit Samari Howard

A month after receiving an offer, Samari Howard lock up an official visit with the WVU football program.

Booked to spend a full weekend in Morgantown with the staff on June 5-7, Howard, a three-star safety prospect, reveled his plans with a graphic on social media on Monday.

A product of the prestigious Saint Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Howard is listed at about 6-foot and 170 pounds. Howard is ranked as around the top 50 safeties in the country and the top 50 Florida players in his class by multiple national recruiting services.

West Virginia extended Howard an offer on Jan. 23, coming after other offers from Boston College, California and Purdue and preceding major offers from Indiana and Oregon. In addition to his WVU visit, Howard will spend a weekend with Indiana after leaving West Virginia from June 12-14.

Howard also has offers on the table from Colorado, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Missouri, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State, Pitt, Texas A&M. He even has less prominent offers from East Carolina, Bowling Green, FIU, Oregon State, Toledo, UConn and Western Kentucky among others.
