WVU Football Believes in Potential of 2027 Safety Enough to Send Offer

Believing he has the talent and ability, the WVU football staff sent an offer to a versatile 2027 safety on Feb. 19.

Connor Hites, listed at 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds, revealed his offer on X (formerly Twitter), adding it to hist of over 10 Division I offers. He attends St. Ignatius in Chicago, Ill.

Whiles Hites has numerous opportunities on the table, West Virginia does currently stand as his biggest offer yet. Prior to WVU, he was offered by Icy League schools like Brown, Dartmouth and Princeton and also North Dakota State among others.

As a junior in 2025, Hites recorded 95 total tackles with 50 being credited as solo, eight tackles for a loss, an interception and a forced fumble. He also ran for a touchdown during time on the offensive side of the ball.

Hites helped his team win the Prep Bowl championship in 2025 and was named an All Chicago Catholic League player.
