Mountaineers in the Pros
WVU Football’s Kwiatkoski Records Five Tackles in MNF
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Former WVU linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski made a name for himself in last night’s NFL Monday Night Football game between the Las Vegas Raiders and the Baltimore Ravens. Kwiatkoski, who played on Dana Holgorsen’s Mountaineer roster between 2011-15, was drafted to the Chicago Bears in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft as an inside linebacker. Then, on March 27, 2020, Kwitakoski signed a three-year, $21 million deal with the Las Vegas Raiders.

When the Raiders trimmed down to the eventual 53-man roster, Kwiatkoski was almost a casualty of the linebacker restructuring. The Raiders, a team that carries five linebackers, decided to keep him. Now in his sixth NFL season, Kwiatkoski is working off the momentum of last season’s 12 starts, and continuing his strong presence at MIKE on the weekends in 2021.
