WVU in on High-Upside 2020 Recruit Levi Wentz

Despite never playing organized football before this year, Pine-Richland senior Levi Wentz has been attracting a lot of attention.

The 6-3, 182 pounder might be new to football, but his raw athletic ability is turning heads all over the area.

Wentz had been drawing interest from smaller schools like Akron and William and Mary, but was on the sideline for Pitt’s homecoming match-up with Miami last Saturday. This weekend he is set to visit Duquesne and in two weeks’ time will be watching West Virginia take on Texas Tech at Mountaineer Field.

Wentz played cornerback for the Rams this season but is considered an athlete in recruiting due to his newness to the sport. He said WVU is interested in him at cornerback.

Wentz has grown up a die-hard Pitt fan but said that, “the only team that I really can’t stand is Penn State so I don’t think it will be that weird at WVU.”

WVU has yet to offer Wentz, but he said that an offer will come “sometime in the near future”.
