The “Deuce” was loose all over Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night.

Former West Virginia Mountaineer and current New York Knick Miles “Deuce” McBride became the talk of the team after the Knicks 113-89 win over the Atlanta Hawks. McBride, who received 27 minutes off the bench, the fourth most minutes of any player on the team, posted a season-high six assists and showed off his willingness to hustle on defense.

When asked about his effort, the point guard gave a typical McBride-like answer. “The basketball has magic in it…Getting everybody a touch, getting everybody a feel — that’s how I get into a good rhythm, seeing others play well,” offered McBride.

While McBride only scored three points in the game, he did also record two rebounds and a big steal to go along with his six assists. He was a +19 on the night. It’s games like this that will undoubtedly keep getting McBride NBA minutes, both the rest of this season and beyond.

Even though he may not be lighting up the stat sheet as much and having his responses to reporters copied by stars around the league, Miles McBride is making sure people realize Jevon Carter is not the only WVU product performing in the NBA today.
