WVU’s Jordan Lesley Up for Top Assistant Coach Award
West Virginia football assistant coach Jordan Lesley has been nominated for the Broyles Award, given annually to the nation’s top assistant coach.

Lesley is serving as WVU’s co-defensive coordinator and defensive line coach this season. Lesley is in his second season coaching the Mountaineers after following head coach Neal Brown from Troy. He coached at Troy from 2016-18, his first Division-I coaching job.
During his first season in Morgantown, Lesley coached both Darius and Dante Stills to all-conference honors, and the Mountaineers finished third in the Big 12 with 33 sacks. WVU is fifth in the conference with 22 sacks this season and third in rushing defense.
Other Big 12 assistants that have been nominated for the award are Iowa State offensive coordinator Tom Manning, Oklahoma defensive line coach Calvin Thibodeaux and Oklahoma State defensive coordinator Jim Knowles. Marshall defensive coordinator Brad Lambert has also been niminated.
