West Virginia fans have seen how a pass rush came can be a benefit can cause issues for the opponent. The program is looking to ensure that tradition continues into the future by extending an offer to a defensive end.
Jewett Hayes III tweeted that after a conversation with WVU defensive coordinator Jordan Lesley that he’s officially received an offer from the Mountaineers. Hayes is a class of 2024 product and plays for Moeller High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. He’s been labeled with a three-star rating by Rivals and has also been offered by Iowa and Kentucky.

In Hayes’ tweet, he included an image of a Milan Puskar Stadium packed with fans during a “stripe the field” game. Hayes is listed at 6’4 and 190 pounds.
Hayes is the second Ohio player to announce an offer from the Mountaineers today. This shows that Neal Brown and West Virginia are looking to dip back into Ohio, a place the program has been criticized by national college football analyst Mike Farrell for giving up on in the past.
Farrell discussed this topic as part of his appearance on show on WV Sports Now in the past.
