The WVU football staff has landed a new kicker with regional ties. Transfer kicker Peter Notaro announced his commitment to West Virginia on Saturday.

“Blessed to start this new chapter! Really appreciate Coach Kirkland, Coach Donati, and Coach Rod for the opportunity. Excited to get to work,” said Notaro.

A native of Western Pennsylvania who played high school football at North Allegheny High School in the prestigious WPIAL, Notaro spent his true freshman season as a redshirt at Alabama.

He served as the backup placekicker and played in two games, making five extra points in as many tries while kicking off five times for a combined 317 yards with two touchbacks.

He was considered a top prospect as a high school recruit.
