Anthony Becht Leads Battlehawks to Second Straight Thrilling Comeback Win

One thing is crystal clear so far through two games of the 2023 season – Anthony Becht and the St. Louis Battlehawks won’t ever give up and are never out of a game.
After a thrilling comeback victory in Week 1, the Battlehawks were forced to put together another comeback effort again on the road in Seattle on Thursday night. And in unreliable fashion, they did it again. St. Louis is now 2-0 thanks to a 20-18 win over the Sea Dragons.

This particular comeback almost failed to finish the job too. St. Louis, who trailed most of the game, including 12-8 at halftime, fought back to take a 17-12 lead in the fourth quarter. But Seattle eventually reclaimed the lead and then was up 18-17 in the final minutes.

Then, just like last week, the Battlehawks were able to do enough with the final possession to set up a game winning 44-yard field goal by Donny Hageman as time expired.

As far as by the numbers, St. Louis quarterback A.J. McCarron completed 22 of 36 passes while throwing for 184 yards and a touchdown in the win.
It’s now rolling towards Week 3 for the unseated 2-0 Battlehawks. St. Louis will continue their season opening road trip in DC in a matchup against the Defenders on Sunday, March 5. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 pm ET and the game will be televised on FX.
