Baker Mayfield Will Not Start Against WVU

Published

on

Oklahoma starting quarterback and Heisman front runner Baker Mayfield will not start the game against the Mountaineers on Saturday. “Come to the decision after thinking about it here after the last few days, a couple of things are going to happen.  Baker wont be a captain for this game and he will also not start this game, but he will play”, said Oklahoma head football coach Lincoln Riley. There is no indication on how long he will sit out, but one would assume it would only be for two Oklahoma offensive series.

The suspension or just having to sit out to start the game, comes after Mayfield grabbed his crotch and yelled obscenities across the field to the Kansas bench.  Mayfield did issue an apology after the game, saying he let the Oklahoma program down with his actions.

West Virginia will take on the Sooners in Norman at 3:45 on ESPN.
