The starting quarterback job is something everyone in West Virginia has been keeping a close eye on. Everyone has a different guess on who it may be and are all rooting for different guys.

Many believe Oklahoma transfer Austin Kendall is the clear favorite, but some believe that Jack Allison may be right there with him. Is redshirt freshman Trey Lowe seriously in the mix? According to Neal Brown, he’s been fairly impressive throughout fall camp.

Well this morning, things got even more interesting. According to a report from Allan Taylor of The Athletic, quarterback Jarret Doege was approved for immediate eligibility by the NCAA. He has two years of eligibility remaining.

Doege is a transfer from Bowling Green, where he was a two year starter in put up some seriously good numbers (39 touchdowns & 4,041 yards). So, now that Doege has been cleared, does this mean even more controversy for the starting gig? We shall see. It appears Neal Brown may be making an announcement today on the starter, but this news may have thrown a wrinkle into those plans.
