Can WVU Flip 2024 4-Star Pitt Commit WR Ric’Darious Farmer?

Can WVU flip a recruit committed to their rival up north? Well, it’s certainly a possibility since class of 2024 four-star wide receiver Ric’Darious Farmer has now scheduled a visit with WVU.

The talented wide receiver from Cocoa High School in Cocoa, Florida committed to Pitt on Christmas Day after considering the Mountaineers among many other programs. He’s since made multiple visits to Pittsburgh.

Things appeared to be solid between the two sides, and although they still do appear to be, Farmer wants to make 100% sure that Pitt is it.

Farmer told our partner Pittsburgh Sports Now that aside from Pitt, he intends to make official visits to West Virginia and Marshall.

PSN caught up with Farmer this morning and the first thing we asked was his reasoning for wanting to take official visits to other schools when he’s committed to Pitt.

“Just to experience more places before my high school career is over with and just to see how different schools operate,” said Farmer.

The next obvious question is how he would describe his current relationship with the Pitt staff and has anything changed in the last couple months?

“My relationship with Pitt is outstanding. Coach Wood (Tiquan Underwood) and Coach Duzz have done a really good job recruiting me.”

My final question to Farmer was, does he consider his recruitment open and how would he currently describe it?

“I would still like for schools to recruit me, I don’t want to burn bridges with any college coach,” said Farmer. “But I’m 100% locked in with Pittsburgh, no question.”

Farmer went on to say that he could end up using all five official visits, but the other two schools haven’t been determined yet. He also says that as of today, he hasn’t locked down any dates for his official visits this summer or fall.

This story was adjusted after initially appearing on our partner site Pittsburgh Sports Now.
