FOX Sports’ Joel Klatt believes West Virginia has “got a shot” at winning the Big 12 conference

The Big 12 Conference kicked off its annual two-day media session today, and although the Mountaineers will not take center stage today, they did receive some recognition nonetheless. Joel Klatt, a college football analyst with Fox Sports, offered a positive forecast for West Virginia.

“West Virginia, I think, has a great chance to beat Tennessee, beat North Carolina State and be 8-0 when they go Texas on November 3rd,” Klatt said. “With that quarterback, he’ll be in the Heisman race. They get Oklahoma at home to end the season. It’s a good schedule. West Virginia has got a shot.”

He continued his praise, saying, “They have other pieces around Will Grier and David Sills to make and create plays. Will Grier has my vote for Offensive Player of the Year.”

Klatt has a history of showing West Virginia some love. He most recently advocated for the Mountaineers in 2016, after West Virginia jumped out to a 5-0 start but was still overlooked nationally.

Head coach Dana Holgorsen will take the stage for Media Day at 11:05 tomorrow morning, while quarterback Will Grier and wide receiver David Sills will have side interviews with FOX during the allotted time.
