Another Mountaineer embarks on his professional journey by signing with a Major League Baseball franchise. The WVU Baseball program announced that Tevin Tucker has signed with the Colorado Rockies as an undrafted free agent on Thursday.

Tucker, a Prince George, Virginia native, became a star at WVU in 2023. He put together his best college season by far, hitting .318 with 62 hits in 60 games played. While playing stellar defense at short stop, Tucker also recorded a .410 slug percentage, a .465 OBP, 23 RBI, 58 runs scored and even hit a home run.

Tucker spent a total of 5 years at West Virginia, including a redshirt injury plagued 2021 season. His .318 batting average in 2023 was the first time in his college career he reached or surpassed .200.
