Could WVU Football Be Back in Play for 2025 3-Star WR?

WVU Football WR recruit Shaun Terry

Just because the WVU football staff loses out on a recruit once, that doesn’t necessarily mean that player is lost forever. There’s even reason to believe a top 2025 prospect who recently became available could boomerang back to being a possibility for the Mountaineers.

And when Shaun Terry announced he’s withdrawing his commitment to Notre Dame on Saturday, it’s now very possible West Virginia is back in play. While WVU was far from the only other major program to pursue Terry prior to his commitment to the Notre Dame, the Mountaineers were one of Terry’s first 10 offers.

Listed at 5-foot-10 and 170 pounds, Terry holds a three-star rating from 247 Sports, On3.com and Rivals. Each outlet ranks Terry as one of the top 20 players in Ohio and among the 100 best wide receivers nationally.

In addition to West Virginia, Terry has offers on the table from almost 30 Division I programs, most notably Auburn, Boston College, Indiana, Iowa, Illinois, Louisville, Michigan, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, Pitt, USC and Wisconsin. Nebraska even joined in with an offer since Terry publicized his intentions to re-open his recruitment.

Terry visited Morgantown in January.
