Diore Hubbard committed to WVU Football after a storied high school career that saw him put up some serious mileage with more than 5,800 offensive yards and 71 touchdowns. A three-star recruit with a pair of First Team All-State nods — which says quite a bit in the populous Buckeye State — Hubbard chose the Mountaineers over offers from Kentucky, Marshall, and a series of other Division I schools.
The 5-foot-10, 191 pound running back appeared in two games for the Mountaineers in 2024 but didn’t register any offensive statistics. He decided to stay on through a head coach transition and knowing he’d have to wait in the wings behind star tailback Jahiem White, but Hubbard could see major playing time at West Virginia in the coming seasons.

Camp outlook: With Jahiem White the entrenched starter — and one of the top running backs in the Big 12 — Hubbard will try to carve out some sort of backup role.
Projected role: After appearing in two games in his debut campaign, don’t rule out more backup snaps for Hubbard in 2025… or an expanded role on special teams.
Accolades, highlights: A three-star recruit in high school, Hubbard picked up two First Team All-State nods in his native Ohio, racking up more than 5,200 rushing yards in the course of his career.
