McBride has become a key piece for the Knicks, playing 24.9 minutes per game while averaging 9.5 points, 2.9 assists and 2.5 rebounds last season. He helped the Knicks advance to the Eastern Conference Finals, where they lost in six games to the Indiana Pacers.
In December 2023, McBride signed a $13 million extension with the Knicks over the next three years. The Knicks traded away several players throughout the season, allowing McBride to pick up more minutes in the rotation.
McBride played two seasons at West Virginia from 2019-21, leading the Mountaineers to an NCAA Tournament appearance during his sophomore year. McBride averaged 15.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.9 steals per game at WVU.
Mike Gansey also represents WVU as the general manager of the Cavaliers.
Gansey served as the assistant general manager from 2017-2022, being assigned the role from former general manager Koby Altman. Altman was then elevated to President of Basketball Operations, making the general manager spot vacant. Gansey, a West Virginia University alumnus, started working for the Cavaliers in 2011, starting as an intern. Gansey has served as Cleveland’s general manager since 2022.
Gansey played at WVU from 2004-06, helping the Mountaineers reach the Elite-8 in 2005 and the Sweet 16 in 2006. Gansey averaged 14.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 68 games under former head coach John Beilein.
