Former WVU G Erik Stevenson was traded from the Austin Spurs to the Texas Legends in the NBA G-League on Monday night. Stevenson, who was a part of the San Antonio Spurs affiliate is now under the Dallas Mavericks.

Stevenson was traded for draft picks that will go to the Austin Spurs.

Through 22 games, Stevenson averaged 9.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.9 assists on 41% shooting from the field.

Stevenson wrapped up his final year of eligibility at West Virginia last season, helping the Mountaineers return to the NCAA Tournament in March. Stevenson averaged 15.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists on 43 percent shooting from the field. The fifth-year senior played his best towards the end of the year, recording five straight 20-point-plus games at the end of February.

Stevenson is pursuing a professional career in basketball. The Lacey, Wa. native participated in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament last April, competing in front of scouts. Stevenson worked out with multiple NBA teams during the summer, including the Washington Wizards and Cleveland Cavaliers before being signed as an undrafted free agent. Following his participation in the NBA Summer League, Stevenson played in the TBT tournament with Best Virginia, WVU’s alumni team. Stevenson’s most memorable moment was hitting a game-winning three in the opening round and pointing to Bob Huggins, who was in attendance as a fan.
