Experienced Transfer DL Adds WVU Football to Growing List of Offers

In West Virginia’s continued effort to rebuild the defensive line, the WVU football program offered another defensive player with hopes he can elevate his game to add depth in the Power Four. Sam Houston transfer Chris Murray revealed his WVU offer on Thursday.
The Mountaineers now join other major programs like Arizona, Kentucky, Missouri and Mississippi State in their pursuit of Murray.

Murray(6-foot-4, 255 pounds) ย registered 25 total tackles, 5.5 sacks and a a couple forced fumbles in 2024 after recording 15 tackles and a sack in 2023. He spent three years at Sam Houston after transiting from TCU ahead of the 2022 season. Murray did not see any game action for TCU in 2021, taking a redshirt season.
Murray was a highly coveted recruit out of Wichita Falls, Texas. He was ranked as the No. 4 defensive end in Texas and No. 25 in the nation as a recruit.
Murray entered the transfer portal in early December and has one year remaining of eligibility.
