Former South Charleston, WVU Point Guard Brandon Knapper Transfers to San Jose State

Former West Virginia Mountaineer and South Charleston basketball star Brandon Knapper is on the move again, heading out west as he transfers to San Jose State.

Knapper was a star for South Charleston, averaging 28.5 points, 6.0 assists and 5.4 steals per game as a senior. He was a three-time Class AAA All-State Basketball First Team and Mountain State Athletic Conference All-League Team selection.

Knapper originally committed to WVU, redshirting for the 2017-18 season. He averaged 3.9 points in 59 games for the Mountaineers over the next two seasons. Knapper transferred to Eastern Kentucky following the 2019-20 season. He played just four games for the Colonels in 2020-21, averaging 18.5 points.
