The WVU football staff picked up a recruiting win in the form of being considered by a top quarterback prospect. When 2026 four-star Legend Bey asked where his college home should be, he did so by including West Virginia as an option.

Bey, who lists himself at 6-foot and 185 pounds, revealed WVU as one of his top 10 schools as he continues talking to coaches and making visits all across the country. In fact, he will be on an official visit in Morgantown this weekend.

A product of Texas’ North Forney High School, Bey has a top 10 full of Power Four programs and elite level brands. Beyond West Virginia, Bey is considering Boston College, Duke, Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas A&M and Texas Tech round out his list. Rodriguez and his staff officially extended an offer to Bey in late February.

A major reason why it makes sense for Bey to be interested in WVU is his potential fit with Rich Rodriguez. Bey is a dual-threat quarterback who totaled 1,444 passing yards with 1,912 rushing yards during his 2024 season. He produced 41 overall touchdowns and was named Offensive MVP.

247 Sports ranks Bey as their 109th player in Texas and No. 771 as far as where he stands nationally.

Aside from his top 10, Bey has offers on the table from note worthy schools like Arizona State, Arkansas, Baylor, California, Cincinnati, Colorado, Houston, Michigan State, Missouri, Ole Miss, Pitt, TCU, UCF and Utah among many others.
