The Mountaineers coaching staff is staying active on the recruiting trail and have offered 2020 wide receiver Jalen Coit of Cheraw, South Carolina.

Coit also holds offers from Duke, Indiana, Kansas, Penn State, Purdue, Tennessee, Virginia, Vanderbilt and a few others.

There are currently no leaders to land him, but he did express his excitement of receiving the West Virginia offer. “I was overly excited, especially with everything I’ve heard about the university. Getting up there will be a big opportunity for me to see what I’ve heard.” Coit said.

When I asked if he planned on visiting West Virginia he responded, “Oh yes sir, for sure! We are trying to get that sorted out right now as we speak.”

Recruiting coordinator Casey Smithson and receivers coach Xavier Dye have been going after Coit pretty hard, “I have a tight bond with both. I FaceTimed Casey the other night while he was working out, so that was pretty cool.”

Coit said that Coach Dye would like to get him the ball in a variety of ways, whether it be on the outside (where he’s most comfortable with) or the slot.
