West Virginia’s new tight end is all signed on and ready to go. The WVU football program and head coach Neal Brown announced that LSU transfer Kole Taylor has officially signed a grant-in-aid and will be enrolling with two years left of eligibility.

Taylor, standing at 6’7″ and weighing 250 pounds, committed to transfer to West Virginia on Dec. 25. He has three years and 32 games of experience coming with him from LSU. However, only seven of those 32 games were starts, and just 17 career catches for 159 yards and just one touchdown.

He was a three star recruit of LSU’s class of 2020 and made two of his starts at tight end that season. Prior to committing to LSU in 2020 he was being pursued by 26 schools including WVU, who offered him at the time.

He comes from Grand Junction, Colorado and was described as a natural pass-catcher on LSU’s website.

WVU has been looking for a tight end in the transfer portal since Mike O’Laughlin entered the portal earlier this month. O’Laughlin had been considering retirement after suffering his third season ending ACL tear earlier this season.
