Marshall Basketball Alum to Play for Best Virginia in TBT

In an interesting development, a former Marshall Thundering Herd will play for Best Virginia, WVU alumni team, in the 2025 TBT.
Jarrod West will join the team to play for his father by the same name. With his dad serving as the head coach and returning for the first time since the team’s debut in 2019, the younger West will represent Best Virginia instead of Herd That this summer.
Despite not being formally announced, West’s name has been added to the Best Virginia roster on the team’s TBT page.
West played for Marshall from 2017-21 before finishing out his college career at Louisville. He averaged 8.9 points, 2.9 assists and 2.5 rebounds in 158 games played throughout his college career.
As a professional, West most recently played at KK Bosna Sarajevo in Bosnia. He first made his name as a high school player in West Virginia, leading Notre Dame to the Class A state championship in 2017.
West did previously play Herd That, the Marshall alumni, in a past TBT.
The TBTย returns to West Virginia this year as the 2025 West Virginia Regional will be played in the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center from July 18-23. Charleston previously hosted TBT regionals in 2021 and 2022.
