Ross Hodge is bringing another assistant coach from North Texas as WVU announced the hiring of Mike Randle Thursday morning.

Randle spent the last two seasons coaching under Hodge at UNT.

“Mike is one of the best up-and-coming young coaches in America,” Hodge said in a statement. “He is an elite relationship builder and has made impactful connections nationally. Mike is a tireless worker and pours his heart into mentoring young men.”

Randle began his college playing career at Paris College, where Hodge coached from 2005-09. After graduating from Eastern New Mexico State in 2015, Randle spent a few seasons coaching in the prep ranks. He then spent several years coaching in junior college before moving up to Southeast Louisiana in 2022. He joined Hodge at North Texas the following season and now follows him to West Virginia.

“I’m humbled and honored to be joining the West Virginia University basketball family,” Randle said. “I want to thank coach Ross Hodge and the administration for a tremendous opportunity.”

Mike Randle is the fourth staff member to come with Hodge from UNT, joining fellow assistant coaches Jase Herl and Phil Forte and director of video Sean McClurg.
