Ross Hodge has added Sean McClurg to the WVU basketball staff as director of video, scouting and analytics, the program announced Wednesday.

McClurg follows Hodge from North Texas, where he spent last season in the same role. McClurg is the third staff member to follow Hodge from UNT, joining assistant coaches Jase Herl and Phil Forte.

โ€œSean brings a great deal of experience and knowledge in the new age of analytics and advanced scouting,โ€ Hodge said in a statement. โ€œSean will have a direct impact in our game preparation and recruiting. He is a tremendous worker and a great person.โ€

Prior to North Texas, McClurg spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Queens. He has also had a four-year stint at New Mexico. His coaching career began as a graduate assistant at Louisiana Tech in 2017-18 and he was a student manager at his alma mater Virginia Tech for four seasons.

โ€œIโ€™m blessed to be joining coach Hodgeโ€™s staff at West Virginia,โ€ McClurg said. โ€œItโ€™s a privilege to be part of a program with rich history and championship culture. Iโ€™m excited to meet the Mountaineer faithful and sing Country Roads with them after games.โ€
