Miles McBride Scores 14 in Return to Knicks After Long Absence
Making his triumphant return, Miles McBride helped lead the Knicks to a 130-125 win in New Orleans. The former WVU guard scored 14 points and while hitting 4-of-8 shots from the field and 2-of-5 from long range.
McBride’s return the lineup came after being moved to “questionable” on Saturday. He was out with a left ankle sprain and an illness.
New York is now 23-9 and 8-2 in their last 10, having won recently without McBride and now with him again.

In 20 games played while being in and out of the lineup before Monday, McBride averaged 11.6 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists while shooting 43.6% from the field and 44.4% from three. He was putting up some of his best scoring totals before suffering his latest setback.
McBride scored 19 points in 33 minutes, connecting on 5-of-8 shots to help New York defeat the Milwaukee Bucks 118-109 in an NBA Cup Group C game on Nov. 28. He also sunk 5-of-7 three-pointers and added a couple rebounds and an assist.
The Knicks entered the 2025-26 season after falling short to the Indiana Pacers in last seasonโs the Eastern Conference Finals. Last year, McBride averaged 9.5 points, 2.9 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game in 64 games played. In the postseason, he had 5.8 points per game.
McBride has become a key piece for the Knicks, having played 24.9 minutes per game while averaging 9.5 points, 2.9 assists and 2.5 rebounds last season. He helped the Knicks advance to the Eastern Conference Finals, where they lost in six games to the Indiana Pacers.
In December 2023, McBride signed a $13 million extension with the Knicks over the next three years. The Knicks traded away several players throughout the season, allowing McBride to pick up more minutes in the rotation.
McBride played two seasons at West Virginia from 2019-21, leading the Mountaineers to an NCAA Tournament appearance during his sophomore year. McBride averaged 15.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.9 steals per game at WVU.
