Morgantown, WV – West Virginia will be without its starting outside linebacker Charlie Benton for the 2018 season according to head coach Dana Holgorsen.

After 18 plays as the starting SAM linebacker spot during Saturday’s game against Tennessee, Benton suffered an apparent knee injury and will require season-ending surgery.

Redshirt freshman Exree Loe will replace Benton for the Mountaineers’ contest against Youngstown State in week two.
