Navy Transfer LB Tyler Cain Decides to Commit to West Virginia

West Virginia acquired some serious toughness in gaining a commitment from a Navy transfer.

Linebacker Tyler Cain announced his decision to fully commit to WVU by tweeting a graphic Friday night. Cain received a PWO offer from the Mountaineers on Jan. 17.

Listed at 6’3” and 230 pounds, Cain was part of the 2022 high school recruiting class and decided to attend Navy after graduating from Beaver Falls High School in Western Pennsylvania. Cain spoke with WVSN once he obtained an offer from West Virginia.

He revealed to WVSN what triggered his desire to transfer from Navy after only one year. “Government passed a bill where people from service academy can’t go pro. That’s my end goal in life and I wanna reach that. Being at navy was starting to make me lose the love for the game,” said Cain about why he had to move on.
