Neal Brown Says WVU OL Kyle Altuner Will Miss Fall Camp, Start of Season

WVU HC Neal Brown announced during his press conference that OL Kyle Altuner will miss fall camp and the start of the season. Altuner, a freshman, is dealing with a “lower injury”.

“We look for him to come back some point midseason. He’s not going to miss the year,” Brown said on Wednesday. “That’s a blow to us, we thought he’d be able to compete and he still may towards the latter part of the season. He’ll miss all of camp and probably looking towards midseason.”

Altuner, 6-foot-3, 290 pounds, is from Olney, Md.

Altuner was a consensus three-star, having received the rating by all four major outlets – ESPN, 247Sports and Rivals. He was rated similarly on all four, falling between the No. 15 (ESPN), No. 24 (247 Sports) and No. 26 (Rivals) recruit in Maryland.

He chose West Virginia over offers from 19 other programs in Boston College, Cincinnati, Connecticut, Florida State, Liberty, Louisville, Maryland, Miami, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Tennessee and Toledo.
