This weekend, the West Virginia coaching staff hosted an abundance of recruits for junior day. One of those visitors is class of 2020 running back Kolbe Burrell of Saint Joseph’s Prep in Philadelphia, PA who currently holds offers from UMass, Rutgers, Temple and Toledo.

“The visit went great. I loved coach Scott and coach Brown. I loved everything about WVU and can’t wait to get back out for the spring game and camp this summer.” Burrell said of his visit. “The facilities were excellent. The campus had a big city feel to it, but wasn’t too big or busy. I can’t wait to get back on a game day so I can feel the game day atmosphere.” he continued.

Burrell believes that West Virginia could potentially be a good fit for him. “The coaching staff really impressed me and being able to connect with the coaches immediately was key for me. I’m definitely excited about the opportunity and looking forward to getting back out there very soon.” Burrell stated. “Coach Scott is my lead recruiter. He’s been to the school a few times with coach Brown and we have talked on the phone and social media a lot. I spent a lot of time with him this weekend just getting to know him, the program and how they plan to develop the team and the backs. We watched some film and he coached me up a bit. It was exciting to get a feel for the way he coaches. There’s a lot I think I can learn from him, he’s a student of the game, so I’m looking to mimic that as I develop.”

Burrell also informed me that he will be back in Morgantown to take in the annual Gold-Blue spring game and coach Chad Scott will be at his showcase in April. “I also plan to attend the WVU camp this summer if the dates fit my schedule.”
