Popular 2025 DL Raves About WVU Official Visit
Aubrey Melvin knew he had to make sure he did one thing before he could make his final decision – take in a full weekend experience at WVU. And Melvin did just that on his official visit with West Virginia.
Melvin (6-foot-4, 275 pounds) then raved about his visit to WV Sports Now, saying “It went great. I had a nice time.”
The class of 2025 defensive lineman out of Gwynn Park High School in Brandywine, Md. spent time in Morgantown a week after visiting Boston College.
“I got to see the campus and the football facilities, and they were very nice. I also got to meet coach (Andrew) ย Jackson again, and meet Coach (Neal) Brown and the rest of the staff,” explained Melvin as an overview of what took place throughout the weekend.
In addition to West Virginia and Boston College, Melvin has been receiving attention from schools who often recruit the same players like JMU, Pitt, Temple and Virginia Tech. Akron, Charlotte, Connecticut, Kent State and Towson also have offers out to Melvin. He even attended the Notre Dame spring game in April as an invited guest recruit and spent time at Penn State during the 2023 season.
Despite loving everything about the possibility of being a Mountaineer, Melvin is still not ready to reveal an actual commitment date, although he does guarantee his final decision will come before his last high school season gets underway in the fall.
