Report: WVU Basketball to Host First-Year Division-I Opponent
WVU Basketball will host Mercyhurst, who is making the transition from Division-II to Division-I basketball this upcoming year, per Rocco Miller.
Sources: West Virginia will host Mercyhurst as part of its 2024-25 non-conference schedule.

So far, West Virginia officially has Robert Morris, Georgetown and the Battle 4 Atlantis for the non-conference schedule. WVU will also play Pitt in the Backyard Brawl in Pittsburgh at an unannounced date.
The Battle 4 Atlantis will take place from November 27-29 in the Bahamas, with the field consisting of Arizona, Davidson, Gonzaga, Indiana, Louisville, Oklahoma and Providence.
WVU’s matchup vs. RMU will be the season opener and the game against Georgetown is the Big East-Big 12 Battle annual game.
